A warm Welcome at the Hotel Schloss Wartenstein
Hotel Schloss Wartenstein has plenty to offer. Come and enjoy the wonderful view, the informal, relaxed atmosphere and the fresh, seasonal and regional cuisine.
The boutique hotel lies next to the wild and romantic ruins of the eponymous Schloss Wartenstein, a castle built in 1206 some 250 metres above the Rhine Valley. From here, your gaze wanders over the famous spa resort of Bad Ragaz to the Churfirsten mountain range, Sargans, the Bündner Herrschaft at the foot of the Falknis mountain and Prättigau.
The entrance to the Tamina Valley, at 750 metres above sea level, is home not only to the castle but also the highest vineyard along the Rhine, through which the renowned old Roman trade route Porta Romana wends its way towards Pfäfers. It is an ideal starting point for hikes through the UNESCO World Heritage site of the tectonic arena Sardona.
